TROY CLARK WINS MARK CLARK MEMORIAL

Vernon, IN - July 02, 2011 - Saturday night, Twin Cities Raceway Park was host to the
highest paying UMP Super Stock race in the state of Indiana. This being the 19th
Annual Mark Memorial paying $1,500 to win. The Mark Clark Memorial is a prestigious
race that is held every year at Twin Cities and it the race that if you ask any super stock
driver which race would mean the most to them to win, it would be this race. Twenty
eight cars signed in for this event and every single driver had the look of determination
in their eye. With a very stout field of cars set for the a-main, it could have been
anyone's race to win. Troy Clark, cousin to the late Mark Clark, and Jerry Adams set
the pace for the twenty car field to watch for chief starter Tony Ogle's green flag to start
what would be an exciting thirty lap caution free event. Adams pulled out to the early
lead looking very strong. Troy Clark and Jeremy Hines kept a close battle for the
second spot. Adams began to show signs of smoke at lap twenty one with everyone
wondering if he could hold on for just nine more laps. Adams could only hang on for
two more laps before taking his car pitside at lap twenty four. Clark would now take
over the lead with himself and Hines trying to work the lapped cars. Clark and Hines
battled side by side a couple of laps with Clark getting the momentum advantage of the
top side of the race track. When the checkered flag came at lap thirty, the crowd went
wild, for the second year in a row. Last year's winner was Troy's cousin Tim, who is the
brother of the late Mark Clark. Winning this race means a lot to each driver who wins,
but it means a little more to the winner if you happen to be family. This year will go
down in the history books as the year that Troy won "his cousin's race" and will never
be forgotten.
