Mini-Stock Rules for 2008
The Rules and regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing
events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements only. No expressed or implied warranty of
safety shall result from publication of or compliance with these rules and regulations. These rules are
in no way a guarantee against injury or death to participants or spectators.
General Car Rules
Front engine rear wheel drive 4 cylinder cars. Wheelbase must be 101” or less. No station wagons or
convertibles. Cars must be stripped of all interior, glass, lights, mirrors, body trim and seats. Trunk
may be cut out for the size of the fuel cell. Firewall and floorboards must be intact and must be in
stock location. Car body must match suspension. No decking or interior permitted. No tube chassis.
No X’s in frame, no inlaying of tubing in stock frame rails.
Bumpers
Tube bumper permitted. The ends must be capped and tucked in. The ends must be strapped to
body. No sharp edges. Round tubing only. Aftermarket nosepieces and tailpieces are permitted.
Safety
The roll cage with gussets must be installed inside the driver’s compartment. Bars must be at least
1.5” seamless steel. The driver’s door must have 4 horizontal bars and 3 vertical bars for
reinforcement. A steel plate may be added in the driver’s door for added protection. The roll cage
must be higher than the driver’s head with helmet on inside car. Any bars within arms reach of driver
must be padded. Racing seats are mandatory. Must have aluminum racing seat. Belts must be 2”
and at least a 4-point harness. Fire resistant racing suits are mandatory and subject to inspection.
Full racing suits are required while racing. Driver’s fire retardant racing shoes and gloves are
required. Full-face helmets are mandatory. All cars will have at least three 3/8” bars on front
windshield in front of driver. Must have a firewall
between driver and fuel cell. All cars must have a rollover or PVC valve on fuel cell vent for safety. All
cars must have a working 2 lb. (or greater) fire extinguisher easily accessible from either side of the
car and within drivers reach. Fire extinguishers must be mounted securely. No tape or zip ties.
Batteries must be securely mounted inside a battery box. No exposed batteries. Drive shaft must be
painted white. Drive shaft hoop is required within the front foot of the drive shaft for safety.
Engine
No electric fuel pumps.
Stock ignition for make of car.
Stock steel bodied heads only, no aluminum. A maximum of 1 spark plug and 2 valves per cylinder
and only 1 camshaft. No rollers.
Stock intakes, no aftermarket. Stock steel bodied blocks only, no aluminum or aftermarket. The
motor will match the car Chevy-to-Chevy, Ford to Ford. Car is allowed one 2-barrel carburetor, any
2-barrel. Headers are allowed. Engine must be in stock unaltered engine compartment. No moving
firewalls. Racing clutches and flywheels permitted. Car must have working starter. Car starter must
start car. No direct drive automatics. All fuel lines running through driver’s compartment between the
4 points of the roll cage must be in steel tubing or braided steel lines. All fuel lines must be securely
mounted. No fuel injection or turbo’s. No nitrous. No alky. Racing fuel is permitted. Gas only. Fuel
cells must be mounted in steel can if exposed below floorboard. Must use 2 straps to secure fuel cell.
Suspension
Racing shocks, springs and struts are allowed, but must be mounted in stock location. No weight
jacks are allowed. Strut towers must remain stock but may be reinforced. No twist ins. Spring rubbers
are allowed. All suspension parts must remain in stock location. No coil-over's Rear control arms must
appear stock. Rear shocks must remain in stock location. Lower control arms must be stock and in
stock location. No aftermarket K members, must be stock Wheels 8” max wheels only. No aluminum,
1” lug nut mandatory.
Tires
No recaps, tires must pass thru a 9_ hoop. Absolutely no Hoosier, McCreary or American Racer tires.
Tires must be street legal. No grooving, siping tires allowed. Mini Stock buffing tires allowed
NO Beadlocks can be used
Transmissions
Any stock appearing transmission, 4 speed, 5 speed or automatic. Automatic must have working
torque converter. Must have working forward and reverse gears. No racing transmissions. No
aftermarket transmissions allowed.
Rear-Ends
Any stock rear end is permitted. Must be stock width for make and model of car. Ford-to-Ford, Chevy-
to-Chevy. No quick change.
Brakes
All brakes must be stock with at least 3 wheels with working brakes. Stock for make of car. Any pedals
in reasonably stock location.

Driver’s Cockpit
Absolutely no adjustable controls inside the driver’s compartment or within drivers reach while in the
car.
Bodies
Stock appearing body panels only. Bodies must measure stock Fenders, doors and quarter panels
must remain as close as possible to original body lines. No aluminum.
No altering of trunk pan or inner wheel wells, except for tire clearance. No holes in hood. No
spoilers. 2400 lb. weight limit. All weights painted white with car number.
