STORMPAY.COM WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND UP FOR APRIL 30
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CARTERSVILLE, GA – The defending StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series
West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS has used three straight
wins to take over the West Region point lead. Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL
and Frank Wilson of Milton, FL continue to lead the East and South Regions
respectively.
Keeton started his winning streak on April 13 at Southern Speedway in
Hattiesburg, MS, and then won his second straight there on April 21. On
Saturday night, Keeton was the winner at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian,
MS, where he is also the defending StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Track
Champion.
This coming Saturday night, Keeton and the rest of the StormPay.com
Weekly Racing Series regulars will face the traveling stars of the StormPay.com
Dirt Late Model Series National Tour in a 50-lap $3,000-to-win main event at
Whynot Motorsports Park.
In other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region action, a pair of
tracks presented their series season opener on Saturday night. Brad
Cummings of Bedford, IN outran a 16-car field at Twin Cities Raceway Park in
North Vernon, IN, and Paul Davis Sr. of West Monroe, LA was the winner at
Monticello Speedway in Monticello, AR.
Keeton has 244 points and leads Herman Reynolds of Laurel, MS by 16
points in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region. Owen Stockstill
of Columbia, MS is third with 172 points, with Dallas Mozingo of Laurel, in fourth
with 160 points, and Jay Blair of Angie, LA is fifth with 128 points.
Doug Todd of Brandon, MS is sixth with 119 points, and Jamey Smith of
Purvis, MS and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS are tied for the seventh spot
with 118 point each. Danny Murray of Meridian, MS is ninth with 96 points, and
Scott Ladner of Meridian, MS rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com
Weekly Racing Series West Region with 94 points.
Elkins used a top five and two top ten finishes over the weekend in
StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region action to remain on top of the
points chase. Logan Yates of Delta, AL topped a whopping 30 entrants on
Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. The East Region
also saw four drivers pick up their first series wins of the season.
On Tuesday night, 22 cars entered the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series
season opener at 411 Motor Speedway in Knoxville, TN where Shane Roberts of
Blountville, TN was the winner. Chad Wallace of LaGrange, GA took the win on
Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL.
Bill Morgan of Lavonia, GA was the winner at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA
on Saturday night. Darel Owenby of Calhoun, GA was victorious on Saturday
night at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, GA.
Elkins, with 265 points leads Yates by 77 points in the StormPay.com Weekly
Racing Series East Region point standings. Jackson Hale of Southside, AL is
third with 181 points, followed by Adam Martin of Talladega, AL in fourth with
173 points, and Corey Korreckt of Lincoln, AL is fifth with 157 points.
With his Friday night win at Penton Raceway, Wallace moves into a tie for the
sixth spot with Parrish Duncan of Newnan, GA with 150 points each. Jeremy
Pruitt of Chattanooga, TN is eighth with 132 points. Owenby’s North Georgia
Speedway win moved him up to the ninth spot with 122 points, and Brandon
Haley of Lavonia, GA is tenth in the StormPay.com WRS East Region with 117
points.
Kevin Watts of Denham Springs, LA posted his second StormPay.com Weekly
Racing Series South Region win of the season on Friday night at Baton Rouge
Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA. The win moved Watts up to the fourth spot in the
South Region point standings.
Larry Boutwell of Baker, FL was the winner on Friday night at Blackman Motor
Speedway in Blackman, FL. Chris Coggin of Orange Beach, AL took the win on
Saturday night at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL, and Joey Thomas of
Vancleve, MS won the StormPay.com WRS main event on Saturday night at Pike
County Speedway in McComb, MS.
Wilson had one top five and two top ten finishes over the weekend to stay on
top of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series South Region point standings.
Wilson, with 268 points, leads Jonathan Joiner of Milton, FL by 83 points. Bobby
Morrison of Milton, FL is third with 168 points, and Watts has 166 points.
Dewayne Morris of River Falls, AL is fifth with 162 points.
Jerry Bevis of Zachary, LA and Richard Guidry of Port Allen, LA are tied for the
sixth spot with 158 points each, and Robert Nevels of Denham Springs, LA is
eighth with 154 points. Scott Sessions of Milton, FL is ninth with 146 points, and
Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com Weekly
Racing Series South Region point standings with 144 points.
